5th Annual Hmong Voices Community Premiere

Six original short documentary films focused on the Hmong experience will premiere for the first time on Thursday, December 11th at 7:00 PM at the Tower Theater. These films highlight the Hmong experience, as shown through the lives of local individuals.

These films were produced through the Hmong Voices Project, as part of the Center for Multicultural Cooperation’s California Voices Initiative. Hmong Voices originated in 2004 as the result of a tragic series of Hmong teen suicides in the Fresno area. The project empowers youth to document the stories of community elders, documenting Hmong history, culture, and migration in the process. Youth volunteers produced these films in 2007 and 2008.
