next month in May, the inner ear will be celebrating seven years in Fresno, continuing its pace as Fresno & the valley's longest running open mic. This year, we have another great lineup for our anniversary show featuring local artists in both our music, live art, and spoken word offerings; not to mention a real fine nationally known poetry cat as our headliner who will knock 'em dead during his set. over the years the Ear has been through changes~ 3 co-host, 2 venues, and hundreds of performers (local and from afar) that have stepped to our Mic; including Def Poetry Jam artists, musicians, rappers, slammers, writers, singers, and dancers. and we are still committed to bringing writing/performance to the forefront of da NO's diverse arts scene. in seven years we have directly effected how people see poetry, spoken word, & performance in Fresno, inspired new writers and other word type events ( such as the Beat Down Slam, Open Mic at FSU, Food for Thought, Open Mic at Java Wava, Black Light) but most importantly, we are still continuing to build a community of new and exciting writers to not only hear and see but to read also.
Any takers on a story about the show? If so, contact bryan medina at freeh2040@yahoo.com
Cheers!
