Last night I got a look at the new office space at KFSR, which, aswesomely enough, allows them room to have bands "in studio" for performances.
In October, James Brittain Gore, played a spot.
This week they've had spots from Wheels of Fortune and The Sleepover Disaster.
On a side note: I always forget how much I like Sleepover until I hear them and then it's like, "duh." They sounded really good stripped down and acoustic like.
The station is planning for more "in studios" next week, including performances from Patrick Contreras (props to that guy for being EVERYWHERE) and the Super Lucky Cats.
Here's the thing: It ain't cheap to bring you this much good stuff. And the station is still several thousand in the whole from when it had to fix its transmitor. So, if you want to keep hearing cool stuff like this (and jazz, there's lot of jazz, no doubt) you're got to do your part. The station is running its fund drive right now with the goal of raising $33,000. Can they do it? Not without you. So tune in and donate. Or don't. But don't complain when KRZR and KMJ rule the airwaves.
Trike Shop joins the fray on Friday.
Yup, we're joining the list of Fresno bands
supporting the mighty 90.7.
We'll be playing Friday the 21st at 7pm.
Let's all support this radio station who
*consistently* brings us local music!
