For this week's The List, I thought about listing downtown businesses that aren't closing. Then I felt like a sad asshole (seriously, Milano's will be missed).
So, instead, tell me where are the community gardens around town. The uproar from this garden seems to have died down. This one too. Are there any other gardens we can get all rowdy over.
I've noticed:
* A garden on Van Ness Avenue (the Christmas Tree Lane part). I assume it's a community garden, in that there are no fences around it or anything, but I've yet to stop.
Anyway, where are the gardens at people?

Christmas Tree Lane Neighbors Garden
Thanks for noticing. We're just 4 families in the neighborhood that planted more than enough for our own needs. The garden gets full sun all day, so its a can't miss location. Most of our yards in Old Fig have too much shade to grow really great veggies, so this is an ideal spot. Maybe next year more people will join in. It is a LOT of work!
Community Gardens
Theres one at Palm and Bullard, behind the church.
What I want to see is Guerrilla Gardening.
Running to a bare patch, tiny or big, at 3 am, and planting before we get caught.
Thats something Id like to see in sad lil dead areas with no love.
Throw in some trees while we are at it.
Forestierre Gardens? Hey, I
Forestierre Gardens?
Hey, I *did* get a bit of a 'tour' of the one behind Starline and the old Archer's Music.
A very cool project.
Community Gardens
What about "The Gardens" on Fresno and Barstow (I think). If it's still around, it's a retirement community serving many wonderful people over the years.
