Looking to get more active in the community

Heeyyy,, so...
I just graduated from UC San Diego and moved back to my hometown of good ol Clovis. Now I'm on the verge of getting my first real job outta college and would like to join some kind of social/professional group in Fresno/Clovis. I've always been really active in any community I've been in and would like to give back to the 'No!
Since this site is all about being active in the Fresyes community (and fresno's craigslist isn't all that active) I'd like to ask you Fresnans/Visalites/Clovitians about such a group. Any feedback will be much appreciated :)

something i've been involved with, although it's not all that creative but it's certainly community oriented is Tower Beautification.

WHAT:VOLUNTEERS CLEAN UP CURBS,WALKS, VAN NESS
TIME:8:00.–10:00 A.M. Arrive on time for insurance sign-in.
WHERE: Gather at Chicken Pie Shop parking, Wishon and Olive
BRING: Hat,Gloves, light rake or broom if you wish
ALSO BRING: water in refillable bottle, a friend of the Tower
WE SUPPLY: Orange vests, pick up bags, grabbers & scoops, insurance
WHY: Ongoing goal : to beautify our community and build empowerment with responsibility for the quality of life in our area... and to model CLEAN !!
(The area around the Farmers’ Market needs lots of help. Also, since we're in the middle of a film festival we'd really like the area clean so that people continue to have the idea that the Tower is clean, fun, beautiful, cool and safe.)

Hope to see you tonight at the Bartender Challenge! It promises to be a lot of fun. Creative Fresno has its monthly meeting this Saturday at 10AM that you and anybody else is welcome to attend as well as our monthly mixers called Blenders where we hit a different restaurant or bar around town. Check out our website for the Film Makers Forum next month and our educational forum at the grand reopening of the Fresno Met in November. Theme will be adaptive re-use of buildings.

Bartender Challenge September 16
Come on out to Creative Fresno's Bartender Challenge at Palomino's starting at 6:30. It is 805 E. Olive in the Tower District. We have two guest bartenders making politically themed drinks with all tips going to Creative Fresno's Downtown Mural fund.
Elliott Balch will be presenting the Blue with drinks called "Gin Costa" and "Juan aRUMbula" and Julie Griffiths pouring for the Red.
Come and Drink, network and help put some more murals up in downtown Fresno.
