Hello Friends!
Here's an opportunity for fun, to support a very worth-while local
effort AND to check out some cool local music AND to share a fun
vegetarian dinner.
It's the annual “Food Not Bombs Fun Raising Party”
at Full Circle Brewery.
THIS FRIDAY, Jan. 23rd.
My own band Blake Jones & the Trike Shop will play,
along with
those purveyors of between-the-wars pop and jazz:
Scats on the Sly
AND a fantastic local band that I just got turned onto last summer:
Ibice'
---------it's flamenco dancing and guitar-ing and singing and clapping
that'll make you swear rock n' roll must've been invented in Spain in the 1400's.
Come on out Friday at 6:00 (music will begin at 6:30).
It’s an ALL Ages good-time!
The cost is 10 bucks and all goes to support Food Not Bombs' effort to
feed folks who need it.
(They serve a vegetarian meal at Roeding Park every Saturday afternoon
at around 1 o'clock.)
Looking forward to seeing you there,
Blake
Thanks for the FoodNotBombs support!
Thanks all who came out to Full Circle Brewery Friday evening!
The music was terrific, the food was plentiful (a bunch of different kinds of chili, soup, rice, breads and ...mmmmm brownies!),
and the crowd was plentiful and friendly.
Scats in the SLy had some people up and dancing, the Trike Shop (well, I'm not the most unprejudiced voice on this one, but I am probably one of the most critical) did super-fine, and Ibice gained some new fans, as I knew they would, with their passionate performance.
The crowd was diverse--a mix between the Food Not Bombs folks, Full Circle regulars, and a bunch of folks that were new to the place (that's always good).
I look forward to next year's bash!
