Ribs & Tips

Ribs & Tips has everything its name implies. And not much more.

They've got ribs (cooked in the smoker they run in the parking lot every day. You can smell for blocks) and tips (as in tri-tip, a California barbecue favorite).

They also have chicken, but that would have made the name too long, I guess.

There is nothing fancy here. Seriously. The menu is limited to three items with a choice of three differnt sides and you serve yourself iced-tea or pink lemondade in to-go cups.

You eat with plastic silverwear on styrofoam plates and clean it all up with paper napkins. It's almost picnic style. Not the sexiest meal ever, but what do you want? It's barbecue.

This is a favorite lunch spot because it's close to the office, and cheap-ish and a quick eat. You can be in and out in less than 30 if there's no crowd. Also the food is super good.

I personally thought the last supper painting added to the awesomeness of the place. I could imagine Jesus getting down on some of their BBQ.
But I really did like the sauce, it had just a little bit of heat. The cornbread was tasty as well. But I agree with msoghoian about the drinks, they just weren't that hot. But overall, very good food.

I was pretty surprised at

I was pretty surprised at how good their sauce is on those ribs. Its a little spicy, which i'm a fan of. the corn bread was good too. I left full, which is a big accomplishment for a restaurant. The drinks were pretty gross, the iced tea was way too sweet and pink lemonade just doesn't do it for me. Plus i seem to recall random religious paintings on the walls. very strange. I will definitely go back there.
