ruth's chris steakhouse
okay, this place was awesome. and you'll pay for it. my wife and i went to ruth's chris steakhouse for dinner the other evening. it's an awkward name, but a great meal.
we decided to get the 3 course dinner for two special. you each get soup or salad, choice of entree, side dish, and split a dessert. we both went with salad, with my wife getting dry blue cheese & vinegrette while i went with the caesar salad. i was really impressed with the caesar. the dressing was simple, but the presentation was fantastic, the lettuce was crisp. it's sounds a bit silly, but the size of the lettuce pieces was perfect, you weren't jamming too large a piece and it wasn't just shredded either.
both of us actually went with the 3 piece entree that came with a petite filet, stuffed chicken, and a crab cake. i'll admit, neither of us were fans of the crabcake. the chicken and the steak easily made up for ti though. the steak was perfectly cooked to order, and seasoned just enough to taste without affecting the natural flavoring of the meat. the chicken had a bit more seasoning on it, but the boneless breast popped with great flavor. and the cheese filling was great.
for desert, we had wanted to get their selection of chocolates, but i think the waiter misunderstood or was unsure of what we were talking about, which was his only mistake of the night. that mistake was easily forgotten because he hooked us up. basically, they have a chocolate molten cake w/ice cream that they give you for your birthday, which it conveniently became (he said it, not us). sooo rich and perfectly made. really, this cake was moist, sort of dense and yet light. maybe that doesn't make sense, but it was still great.
the decor in the restaurant was very clean and chic, the staff was friendly and very attentive, and even the paper towels in the restroom were super classy.
