After a whole semester of night classes and endless times spent in front of my desktop I was finally able to unplug and step outside to enjoy CVBI’s Unplugged series. This is an event that I have been trying to attend for the past few months and on my first free Wednesday our paths finally cross. Not even a full night of GTA4 could keep me away.
All attendees enjoyed pizza from Milano’s, cold beer, soda and a chance to network. Tonight’s series featured local businessman Paul Gross owner of Hocus Pocus. Mr. Gross was entertaining and witty as he told his story about starting and running his local businesses. Paul provided all the attendees with an uncensored peek into the world of the entrepreneur through his stories about the business world.
My plan for tonight was to twitter the event live. However, I was unable to log on to CVBI’s network. Maybe next month I will have better luck with my connections. The backup plan was to use the cell but if you ever send txt messages you know how difficult that can become. Beside, Paul was just too engaging for me to break my concentration for a quick txt message.
In the end, I came away with a much richer experience and understanding of the entrepreneur mindset.
