Here is a quick rundown of the weekends events (and yes, the weekend starts tonight). This is the stuff I'm doing and comes with all my biases. So, feel free to add your own, please.
Tonight: Stop by Broadway studios and catch a glimpse of Shannon Hunter's Three More Years." Here's what three years has done to some of her (and our) favorite Fresnans.
After, go see Wheels of Fortune down at Teazer. The Tower location. This is part of a welcome-home show for Josh Wigger.
Tomorrow: The Miller Brothers will be signing books at The Fig Garden Bookstore, from 5 to 7 p.m. That's in the Fig Garden Village, for those who didn't know. The Miller Brothers have a great story and seem like totally crazy characters who may never be seen in this sort of setting in this town again. Plus, it's your chance to support a locally-owned independent business.
Saturday: Kingsburg's Swedish Festival is next weekend. Saturday is the Fresno Swede Festival at Corridor 2122. It starts at 6 p.m. and will feature all sorts of Swede goodness, including an entry from these idiots.
Once you're done with that, go have your ears blasted to bleeding down at The Babylon, with Serial Spillers, Hadean, It'll Grow Back and Rites of Retribution. It's only $5 and there's some kind of drink special, so ...
