Bill McEwen's story in today's Bee has me hap-hap-happy.
It's about Urban Dare a one-day urban adventure that takes part in cities across the US and will be hitting Fresno Oct. 4.
From Bill's story:
Event founder Kevin Keefe agreed to put Fresno on this year's 30-city schedule, sandwiched on Oct. 4 between races in San Francisco and Atlanta. The event has a following -- rabid contestants routinely travel to compete in several races a year.
It's an "Amazing Race," style challenge, where knowledge of local geography and history will probably be key. There's no driving or biking just walking/running/or taking the bus.
Here's a chance for all us talk-big-Fresno bloggers-types to prove our worth. Who wants to join me to kick this thing's ass?
If someone from Famous doesn't win this, I'll cry.
Besides the Price
Another obstacle is the lack of a good public transit system in Fresno. I think most people will be walking or running this dare.
It does sound cool! $45 a person is a bit much but an interesting 3-4 hours as well.
Yeah, it's kind of steep...
For a couple hours of fun.
Maybe we could have a "get-brodiemash-into-the-urban-dare" fundraiser party.
$90!?
Yeah, I might have to bow outta this one....

I have like 20 weddings to attend in Oct. but if I'm free that day, I'm so there, sir!
