Viva ... Down with (Fresno's winners and losers on the week)

Viva the organizers and volunteers who put on the Two Cities Marathon and Half this weekend. We tend to focus on music, arts and culture here at Famous, but events like this go a long way to increase the quality of life in the Valley. Also, I hear there was beer at the end of the race, which would almost make me want to run.

Down with KMJ radio for going all FOX News with its commentary on the Ft. Hood shooting. Both Chris Daniel and Jim Franklin insisted that the government was not doing enough to investigate the shooting as a case of terrorism, based on, we can only assume, the fact that the suspect was Muslim.
First: They need to define their terms. Of course this was an act of terrorism. Any time someone goes to work, or school or a mall with a gun and starts shooting people, it's terrorism. What they're really asking is: was organzied? It may very well be that Nidal Hasan's beliefs had a part in this tradegy, but equating Islamic beliefs with some terrorist conspiracy (or bringing on guests to do it for you) is fearmonger at best and I expected better, especially from Daniel.

So far away from the front row

Daniel has already been drinking too much of the KMJ coolaid that makes you say stupid shit in order to fill 2 hours (or in Daniel's case, 4) of radio airtime. He has almost lost all local angles that he seemed to start off his show with too (unless you count talking about teabagging parties local).

Two Cities ROCKED!

Thanks for recognizing all of the hard working volunteers. I have run this race two years in a row, and can say that is one of the nicest, best organized events you can enter in these parts.

For those of you Famous People who aren't runners - the Two Cities Marathon is a Boston Marathon Qualifying Course, meaning that if your time is good enough here, you are elligible to run the Boston Marathon. That is a huge deal - not many cities have that!

Many kudos also go out to the race organizers who have worked so hard to bring this class of running event to our town!
