Weekend recap: To be or not to be ...

This was one of those asleep-on-my-couch-by midnight kinda weekends.

I did manage to get out to Java Wava a couple times this weekend.

I also managed a Kirin and Spicy Green Jacket Roll at Mr. Mr. Sushi, before heading to Woodward Park to catch some Shakespeare. It wasn't competing with MMA.

A quick review: "Hamlet" is three or so hours long. If you can get over that, it's a pretty damn fine play.

So, what did y'all do?

* Some atheists and the like got together for a barbecue.

* A few of you (a very few), went to the movies.

* The Fresnan was busy givin' us props. I think.

corners, gents

can i just throw it out there that ff is intended to be, and has always been intended to be a user driven site. don't see enough of a particular content on here? post it.

it's sad that someone that was very heavily plugged into the "what's happening" moved away...years ago now. and before she left she had moved on from posting that sort of stuff here.

i admit that it would be great if someone was doing a bit more of that. so, antimusic, how about you jump on top of the task? or maybe someone else that reads this would like to contribute a bit more frequently.

Damn dude...

You should really get over the idea of everything having to be exactly like YOU want it.

I'm a critical complainer

Mike Oz you are one of the better ones, You have changed over the years, and you are a lot better. I do like what you have been doing with the 'Weekend' section. But it's FF thats gone down. Too bad Mindhub does not compile a things to do for the weekend list.

Post no bills is cool, but to wait for those graphics to load in, is just slow, if it was text with a link to the flyers and a calendar listing.. kind like what the undercurrent does, then you would have something i'd look at all the time.

Do you remember "The List"? it is a bay area concert and event guide that has been around for many years. I remember getting handed these after shows, when I used to go to San Francisco for concerts. It's still around and also online it's still published with simple html since the mid 1990s.

Fresno had something close to this on the web a few years ago call localbands and then there was planetgig, and a bunch of other come and go websites.

I rarely ever look at the beehive, but I guess I should remember to look at your Five Things to Do This Weekend post... maybe if you posted it also on here in simple text and a link to yours for more detail I'd might have noticed sooner.

Sorry that I suck at my job....

And I never, ever, ever give people options for things to do in the upcoming week or weekend.

You, on the other band, Paul are awesome at what you do -- complaining.

Once Fresno Famous was about getting information about Fresno to the web for events and happening before they happen.
Now it seems that Fresno Famous because it's owned by the bee, has become just like the Bee and reports on events and happening after they are over.

Just Stop it I do not care what you did last weekend, I would very much rather like to know what you plan to do next weekend.

Don't you remember when Jarah, would post on a Thursday or Friday all the shit and events that where going to happen that coming weekend. And you Mr. Leader and controller of FF give us Fresno Bee reporting after the fact. Don't suck at your job like the Fresno Bee does.

Do it right or just don't do it.

Sorry I had to be harsh, but I've come to the realization, that your weekend recaps suck compared to the 'Thanks Goodness it's Fresno' posts.
