does anyone know when the next mayoral candidate debate is? is there a way to question the candidates at the debate or in another way? some citizens have important questions to ask them and want to know how to do so publicly, to get them to make public statements on their positions for certain issues.
thanks for your help!
Nov. 5th listen to Limbaugh.
Nov. 5th listen to Limbaugh. I know we liberals can't stand to listen to Limbaugh, Hannity or Fox News, but on Nov. 5th, 2006, after the Republicans were swept out of office, the Rush Limbaugh show was wonderful! He actually cried on air and angrily said he "wouldn't carry the Republican's water anymore". It was hilarious. Likewise, the other Right-Wing talkers were all trying to explain why the American people kicked Republicans out of office from sea to shining sea. So, next week tune in to hear them cry again as the nation turns away from the most corrupt bunch of Republicans we have ever had in this country. Viva Obama!
ah...let's just squeeze one more in there...
Oh c'mon, we could squeeze one more in!
I'd like to hear them debate about how we could have less frustratingly sad stories like the one about Cafe' Corazon closing.
It seems like everyone: (entrepreneurs, non-profits, rock n' roll bands) keep trying to help downtown---but not the City.
What I really don't want to do, is read yet ANOTHER article in the Bee with pretty graphs and artist renderings of a new snazzy plan.
Let's see something get DONE already.
I am *ready* for some change. Let's hope the city council/new mayor can actually GET something going on down there.
Maybe we need like a state constitution amendment that disallows ineffectual city government and sprawl-inducing developers from marrying each other(oh yeah, too late on that one.)
We vote next tuesday, a week
We vote next tuesday, a week from tomorrow. I don't know if there are any more debates planned as they have had several recent ones between Perea and Swearengin. Most recently there was the one at the Tower Theater conducted by KMJ, the one by KVPT on channel 18, The one by the League of Women Voters, The one at FCC by the Progressives, the one downtown by the Downtown Association and several more. But, if we go back 4 or 5 months ago there were about 11 different people running for mayor and there were several very entertaining debates over a period of time. If you search the Bee's website there were a lot of mayoral debates.
