Eva Scow CD Release Party

Join mandolinist-violinist Eva Scow for her first CD release show ever! She has been working hard for the past few months recording with fellow musicians guitarist Dusty Brough and percussionist John Martin III of the flamenco fusion band Cerro Negro. The CD consists of original compositions by Dusty and Eva, with influences from Flamenco,Brazilian,Jazz, and Acoustic string music. Special guests on the CD include mandolinist Mike Marshall, cellist Mark Summer of Turtle Island String Quartet, pianist Javon Davis and more. The release show will be held at the historic Tower Theater and feature Eva,Dusty, and John as well as incredible bassist Kevin Freeby, and Javon Davis on piano. Opening the show will be flamenco singer Pilar Moreno from Spain with flamenco dancer Juan del Valle of SF Flamenco. Special CD price of $10 night of the performance.
Eva Scow is one of the premier mandolin and violin players in the country. She has been playing music since age 3, beginning with the piano. After studying classical music for the first 10 years, she discovered Jazz and Brasilian music and began to play gigs with musicians around the state. Eva traveled to Brasil to study with some of Brasil's premier instrumentalists. In 2006, Eva was invited to participate in a workshop in New York City with musicians Edgar Meyer, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglass, and Mike Marshall. The workshop culminated in a performance at Carnegie Hall. Eva is currently working on her debut CD with fellow musicians Dusty Brough and John Martin III of the flamenco fusion group Cerro Negro.
