This traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian, presents the musical contributions of U.S. Latinos from the 1940s to the present, exploring the social history and individual creativity that produced stars like Tito Puente, Ritchie Valens, Celia Cruz, Carlos Santana and Selena.
Latino musicians have had a profound influence on traditional genres of music in the United States, including jazz, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll, and hip-hop, mambo and salsa.
Every year, fig tree gallery, invites local artist who have no affiliation with a gallery to show a sample of their work. On Thursday january 3, 2013 through february 3,2013, 18 artist show their work.
This fantastic exciting show opens on thursday 3th of january 2013, and runs tll the 3th of febr. on frid, sat. and sundays 12.00-5.00
