Entice Business

I think Fresno should take note from cities like Dubai and others, and offer major incentives to entice major corporations/businesses to establish headquarters/firms in Fresno. The central valley is home to over 6.5 million people, that's just 700,000 less than the SF Metro. And 1,000,000+ in the Fresno Metro alone. But yet this area lacks so much of what regions far smaller than ours have.

So here's what I say...
The City gov't should buy land itself and GIVE it to businesses willing to build high density complexes. And offer deals, like no taxes (city taxes) for like 3-5 years. Yes, the city would take a loss at first, but just think about it. What makes more sense? Take a chunk out of the budget but then make a butt-load off of taxes from the major boom in commerce within a few years or just sit back and hope that someone might see Fresno as a decent place to build, and then change their mind??? Don't just do this for commerce, but also for industrial, retail, and residential, ESPECIALLY in downtown. This would obviously make potential builders like Donald Trump happy and richer, cause we all know that rich people don't like to spend their money. So.... make it cheaper and easier to build. Plus, if it is cheaper to build, chances are, the rent/leases would be cheaper as well. Big City living without the Big City pricing.
