Fresno Filmworks presents "Honeydripper"
Friday, March 14 • 5:30 pm and 8:15 pm
Fresno Filmworks presents "Honeydripper" at the Tower Theatre. Filmmaker John Sayles examines the complexities and shifting identities of American sub-cultures via this fable about the birth of rock 'n' roll in the 1950s. The citizens of Harmony, Alabama -- played by an ensemble cast of actors including Danny Glover, Charles S. Dutton and others -- provide the rhythms for an understated portrait of the South under Jim Crow. Tickets cost $10 general and $8 for students and seniors, and can be purchased at the Tower Theatre box office, 815 E. Olive Ave., JA Photography, 2003 N. Van Ness Ave., and at the door. Tickets can also be purchased online through PayPal at FresnoFilmworks.org. For more information, call the Filmworks info line, (559) 221-0755, or go to FresnoFilmworks.org.
