We are saddened to learn that George Clausen, ride supervisor at Rotary Playland, has died. I met Clausen at Fresno's Rotary Playland, where I asked if I could take his picture for Famous People. He was most gracious and let me sit next to him while he conducted the Playland train around the park (he also let me toot the train's horn and flip the switch). He was incredibly charming and obviously enjoyed his job. I also had the pleasure of meeting George's young son. Our thoughts are with him and the rest of George's family during this tragic time. The family has requested donations to Rotary Playland in lieu of flowers. A portion of this month's Famous merchandise proceeds will be donated to Rotary Playland.
