Clovis Unified School District will soon begin voluntary drug testing at high schools. So far 850 students (and their parents) have consented to the random testing. ABC 30 interviewed one Clovis student:
"To me, if it's voluntary, then theirs [sic] no problem and your parents have to sign the paper," says Buchanan High senior Veronica Farwell. "Why not take the test?"
Because you're a teen drug addict, obviously. No word on whether or not Fresno Unified with follow suit, either for its students, substitute teachers, or both.
A new medicinal marijuana ordinance went into effect yesterday in the City of Clovis. It limits mature plants to 6 per patient and also prohibits dispensaries. Marijuana advocates say that prohibiting dispensaries limits access to those too sick to grow their own plants, and will fight for increased access.

If schools are serving tuna fish for lunch it's probably one of the healthier things on the menu.
Mercury Poisoning in the School Lunch Tuna fish
The Schools should be more worried about Mercury in the school's lunch Tuna Fish.
"In America one-in-six children born every year have been exposed to mercury levels so high that they are potentially at risk for learning disabilities and motor skill impairment and short-term memory loss. That type of mercury exposure is caused by eating certain kinds of fish, which contain high levels of the toxin from both natural and man-made sources such as emissions from coal-fired power plants. One government analysis shows that 630,000 children each year are exposed to potentially unsafe mercury levels in the womb. If the government and its scientists know about the mercury problem, why do so many people continue to be poisoned?" - From PBS NOW
Whatever happened to
Whatever happened to parenting? Oh, that's right... I forgot, that's the school's job.
Looking at the American school system as a whole, pot's the last thing they should be worried about.
