Hosea Leavy is the last of the Old Time Blues musicians from Fresno's West Side. Originally from Arkansas, he's called Fresno home for 30 years. Primarily known as a guitarist who sings the blues, he is also a master of blues piano, bass, and drums. At 77, the West Side knows Hosea as "the Granddaddy of the Blues." In the early 1970's, Hosea had a hit record called "Cummins Prison Farm." To this day, blues bands in every local bar and country juke joint perform his songs. Hosea has been a recording artist under his own name on such labels as Soul Beat and Fedora. He's toured Europe four times and has played major blues festivals in the USA. When you see Hosea play the blues, relish the moment — he has "Blues Power" in his soul. From CVBlues.org
