Fresno Friends

Here's the deal. I'm getting old. Too old it would seem. And my friends aren't coming with me. I'm only 27, but I don't see the fun in going to parties that are a)packed with 17-20 year olds and b)lame not withstanding the underage drinkers. I want some new friends. Not that I'm ditching the old ones, but my wife and I would like to find more people that we gravitate to.
People who: like to read books and talk about them, like to just hang at coffee and don't need to get drunk to do so, people who like to have dinner parties, people who like to have get togethers for the Tonys or Miss America, people who like to hang out just by calling and wondering what yer doing.
I dunno. This maybe far fetched, but there has to be some people out there who feel the way I do.

Fresno Friends and what not
It is hard to find others when you arent 25 and under, out every night til 2 am, and have nothing else to do but plan what fun and party you are going to attend. If you factor in children.. its even more of a mess. haha.
My hub and I are in our 30s ( eek) and I had an art hop stop the past few years at my home studio. We love to cook and have people over to eat. Bring wine.. bring your kids. that kind of thing.
We should totally organize a sushi making party. How cool would that be?

I lived off of the Court Street Station (F) in Brooklyn and off the 95th Street Station (6) in Manhattan. When the beer bong is filled with Natural Light, I think even witty conversation in Chowchilla could beat that.
I've been meaning to come to the art hop for 2 months now, I usually think of it on the first Friday morning of the month!
I will swing by TSH this week though. I've been craving good sushi since I came back. My wife and I went back to Zipangu but I'm sorry it's just not the same without Sano.

There's no way Famous could ever beat a beer bong, but thanks for saying so. You guys should definitely come out and mingle at ArtHop, and if you're not too tired by 8pm, come out to Tokyo for some food and live music. Everyone is friendly so just say hi.

I couldn't identify more! I just moved back to Fresno (from NYC) and have found all my old friends to be completely foreign. Their idea of fun just doesn't speak to me anymore. My wife and I are a bit partied out and were quite frankly looking forward to enjoying a bit of the quiet life.
Anyway, I'm home on a Saturday night because my cats, 90.7 and my book (along with this site) hold more entertainment value than a beer bong at my friend's house.
you need to get out to the Art Hop
yes the Art Hop does work and you can find friends out on the Art Hop, and other Art events, but I'm not sure if they will want to get together for the Tony's or Miss America, but maybe for the Oscars or Golden Globes, LOL.
look for this coming weeks Art Hop listing here, then go to it. You are not going to find that may of those people you want in River Park, it's all about the Downtown now, you should have gone to the Futon Mall Thursdays this last year, but it looks like that will happen again this year starting in May again.
Sober Miss America?
I am trying to imagine sitting through an entire Miss America pageant stone-cold sober. Hmmmmm. Nope. Can't see it.

There is one of those wide-screen TVs that you can stretch the picture out so they all look like teletubbies. That could work.
