If all the speakers in the world were strategically distributed and playing the same song, it would be possible to hear that music standing anywhere on dry land.

dinner review of manchester steak house

grab a bite here before a movie

two friends recommended this place to me, and so i thought i would give it a try before we went to a movie. we came in, and were able to get a table quickly. well, it was empty in there, but it was a wednesday evening.

i ordered the shish kebab. it came with soup or salad, i went with soup. the soup was a home made vegetable beef with lentils. this soup was amazing. honestly, i could have just had a bowl of the stuff and been great. but, i only had a nice cup to wet my palette. my shish kebab was worth it though. the meat was very moist and tender, and the bell peppers and onions made for nice accents. the meal also came with some tasty rice pilaf, and a thick, lavosh peda bread. overall, i really enjoyed my meal.

now, my wife ordered the dolma, which for those of you not familiar with armenian food, is a mix of ground lamb and beef wrapped in cabbage leaves. She also had a few pieces that were wrapped in grape leaves, which is sarma. this meal also came with the rice pilaf and the bread. unfortunately, we didn't dig the dolma that much. not because it wasn't good, but we were giving something different a try. oh well, live and learn. but the rice pilaf and bread were great.

the staff was very nice, and we had a good experience. the decor in this place is straight up 70's bar with booths, but it was cool and comfortable.

Tommy's

Speaking of Downtown landmarks, Tommy has been working Downtown since the 60s. For the best of inexpensive hamburgers and fries there isn't a better place anywhere.

manchester

and a regular old hamburger here is as good as it gets. these guys truly enjoy having people come in their place. it makes for a pleasant atmosphere. how many times i've just forgotten to eat there! i forget how good it is, i forget how close i am, i forget how cool they are. no more (unless i'm downtown - then i'm downtown).
get it?,

The owners are

way cool dudes. The oldest brother graduated high school and went straight to school to be a chef. The younger brother makes an awesome Long Island.

I have the pleasure of being able to frequent that place. My favorite is the Lamb Lavash. And you're right about that soup, I have that as a meal for lunch a lot of times.
