I agree that it shouldn't matter at this level either. Honestly, I don't care what party you are, as long as I agree with your stance on what matters to me. I have a feeling I will be voting outside of my party during this year elections as well.
Amen on the non-partisan position. Being mayor truly requires transcending above the party lines and really digging into the local issues despite whatever political affiliation one might have.
That's one thing I would actually commend Autry on--although I believe he's a republican (because of his affiliation with the Governator...or maybe that's just an 'actor' thing) it seems that he has steered clear of aligning himself with a particular political ideology in making his decisions in office. I guess that could be because in local government, you really have to wipe away your bias towards a certain political ideology and look at what is going to create positive change in Fresno.
I believe it was intended for Democratic candidates only which is too bad because the Mayoral position is a non-partisan position. I am supporting Ashley Swearengin who is Republican and I am a Democrat. I don't think the party matters as much at this level of politics.
Oh

Non-Partisan Mayor

That seems odd. You would think she would have been the first to speak. Hopefully someone can shed light on this.
