Just one of the faces of Fresno Famous
February 28, 2008
I was gobsmacked at the number of folks who told a bit about themselves on the post "I wonder how many people read Fresno Famous". There are some right cheeky and clever folks on here. Have to love some of the screen names and the comments are right clever and very tongue in cheek. Even if the folks do not agree, no one is beastly. Lovely. I feel as if I have a better feel for the folks in Fresno. OOTV, Tell Tale, LaCholaAKAJoeJoe, Mike OZ,Orangebear, and so many more. They have banged on about downtown, called each other out as to the boarders of, been named Dictator, and threatened to level my road to make way for a SuperWalmat. Right good giggle I have had.
There is a snap of me. As you can see, I am none of the things I told, was having a go at folks, but then you knew that. I love meeting folks, love to listen to the stories they tell, and love to share mine with. It would be grand to meet more of the folks on here. Am sure there are many clever and brilliant folks yet to tell us about themselves.
I would love to hear what casino is the best to lose one's money in. What thrift store is the best. Good cheap restaurant(bit odd- cheap and good?) The best place to get a cuppa. Best public transport line. In short, all of the dirt, and then some.
Let's see if we can get folks to come out again and share with all. The last thread got 96 comments, can we top 100??

Coffee & Tea
Near you, probably the best coffee is Café Corazón, on Fulton Mall. Nice folks in there, and interesting clientele. It's nice to see something like that downtown. Kern Coffee Co. isn't all that great- OK coffee I guess, but cheap fold-up picnic type tables. Also, I think they close in the early afternoon unless they changed that.
If you're into tea, and you sound like you might well be, Teaszer is nice, but overrated and spectacularly, mind-bogglingly expensive. It's good maybe once or twice a year.
Cafe Corazon
for coffee. Fulton Mall.
I will have to get on public transport.........
Rob DeFrees
That address is quite a distance from where I live. Will take me all day to journey there. Hmmmmm, creepy, might have to stop for tomatoes, hope the chap wears "wash and wear"...........just joking, do I look like the type to toss away good food????
A few places
Best Tea Place Hands Down: Teazers. Located in the tower district. Olive and... something... look it up.
Best Bar: Yeah um... I'm under age... Damn...
Best thing to do on the third thursday of every month: The Inner Ear Poetry Jam at Full Circle Brewery. Music, art and poetry collide to form something beautiful. (Five dollar cover for audience, three for readers)
Not best place to hear live music: Bullard between Maroa and Blackstone around 5:30 til it gets dark... There's this creepy guy who just play guitar on top of a freaky stone column outside these apartments... people honk, he waves... He's creepy...
Wait, that's me...
One of the better places to hear live music: Club Fred/Starline. Pick one...
