Fresno Met Docent Education Series

The Fresno Metropolitan Museum's Docent Education Series continues on Monday, February 13th with a presentation by Bob Pennell entitled "Native American Artifacts - Maintaining Cultural Traditions." The presentation will be held at the Woodward Park Library at 9:00 a.m.

Pennell is the Table Mountain Rancheria Tribal Cultural Resources Director. Mr. Pennell will reference the Met's permanent collection of Native American utilitarian items as he discusses the rich cultural heritage and diversity of forms echoed in objects created in our Valley. Tribal elders will share their basket-making skills and personal knowledge with the group.

Anyone interested in joining the Docent program is welcome to call Ann Wanger at 441-1444, ext. 224 or e-mail at annw@fresnomet.org for further information. Reservations are requested. Docents from other art institutions are welcome to attend at no cost.
