SCRG NEEDS YOUR HELP
Hey everyone!
The Grrls of Smog City are having a photo shoot this month and we are looking for some really cool landmarks downtown. We will begin our series of pictures in front of the WELCOME TO FRESNO sign on Van Ness and would love to pose in front of some murals and landmarks that distinguish Fresno from any other industrial downtown city.
If you have any ideas or possible props, ie; Cars, Bikes, Scooters, we'd love to incorporate them into our photoshoot.
Also, i am not too familiar with the local artist of various murals downtown and wondered if we were to use them in our pictures, would we need permission?
These pictures will be used for promotional material such as Posters, fliers, trading cards and calendars.
Please give me some feedback and all ideas are welcome!
Thanks!
Joey

Downtown Murals
Hi Joey,
In general, an artist's signature or mark acts as a copyright for the artist and/or building owner and use of the image for profit without the consent (or compensation) of the artist is a violation. Using the images in promotional materials (no profit) crediting the artist is usually enough although sometimes the artist requires permission first.
Okay all that said, if you fancy any of the Creative Fresno/Reza Assemi murals (Broadway Studios, Econo Inn, H Street, Sac St) we can help with artist names and contact info.
Donavan
No prob. Like I said I'd like to help however I can.
As for locations, what about Storyland or Playland? Possibly even the Zoo? Or maybe the old Admin building at FCC. I know that isn't downtown, but that's as far north as I would go.
Awesome!
We will definately take you up on the photoshop suggestion. Adding names and numbers to personal pictures would be great!
Don't forget Star Fleet Command, err City Hall. I like the idea of on top of a parking structure to get a panarama of the downtown skyline.
What about in front of the Rainbow Ballroom?
If you need any help with this Joey let me know, I'm pretty good at Photoshop.
downtown and near
have you taken photos in front of the water tower? it's a over used Fresno landmark, but it has defined Fresno since the 70's.
In front of The Meux Home, Kearney Mansion, or Tower Theater
on the top of one of the parking structures and get a good background of the city scape.
or in front of the Baseball Stadium, or on the field like the ball players.
you could also bandage everyone up and take a photo in front of the hospital. hehe.
have fun and good luck.
