Lights On Kern Street

Joe Moore of KFSR 90.7 has some really nice shots of the night lighting on Kern Street. Check out the pics...
Lights, trees, & sidewalks (amongst other small improvements) gave our own Kern Street a much appreciated face lift.
But, was it necessary? Was it worth taking on the name “Sports Town”? Was it worth the nearly one (1) million dollar price tag?
Please feel free to come over and discuss with us.

What is Sportstown?
There is nothing sports related there.
There nothing there for people to do or go to?
Mayor Bubba had crews working 7 days a week for what?
How much went for overtime?
Who's cousins cousin sombody got a fat contract to do the work?
Why didn't they finish it and do the block of Kern leading into the Stadium?
Then finished the mall to match?
Part cobblestone, part sidewalk with modern street lights and new parking meters.
The cobblestone strips dont even lead up to building doors.
Everythings off center like typical Fresno City Government.
Throw up some cheap banners with ads that cant handsle the wind and you got Bubba's legacy as Mayor.
Maybe I missed it but I didn't see a Carlos Brown banner.
The street was already beautiful.
Another street could have been redone.
Maybe Garlos Brown "aka" Alan Autry's mama never thought him you can't put a dress and makeup on a pig.
The downtown drunks and druggies are already staking out their spots to harass people for money.
Are those empty 40's laying in the bushes already?
No matter how pretty you do Kern people that go to the Stadium will not hang out Downtown after a game.
They head for River Pork or Granite Pork.
