Creative Awakening - Encouragement for the Creative Proffessional in Fresno

I was talking with a friend today who is a graphic designer. A side note, he is well educated in his field, very talented, and yet he’s miserable in his work environment.

HE works for a large local based company that does advertising for a large retail entity here in Fresno. I was surprised to hear that this office is full of creative’s that are slaved away daily, not encouraged and are under strict supervision of un-artistic-untalented individuals who apparently are under the impression that they know more about graphic design then the designers themselves.

I laughed thinking, this is NUTS. What kind of company would profit under these circumstances, and how in the world could such a company or organization thrive successfully under such demeaning circumstances? YET THERE IT IS.

Why have I started this thread? Well here is the deal. I lived in LA for a few years and recently last year returned to Fresno my home town. While I was away I was exposed to some of the most creative companies - a work environment where encouragement and positive influences acts as the life blood to the company’s very existence. This company i will leave nameless but I assure you it does exist and is one of many leading profitable organizations around. There are no starving artists there.

I challenge Fresno's Famous Readers. If you are a local artist, creative, designer, enthusiast, or the like working in a hostile environment and you stay because its your only means of support to join me for a Creative Awakening.

My Goal to build a work environment where creativity flows, and people cant get enough of what we offer. If you are an artist in the making, or you want to learn or discover your hidden talent, let this be the place to learn and explore the world of design and art and apply it towards something to be proud of.
