Yeah, this is predominately an entertainment site, however, this blog is for any interested parties to comment about Fresno building a light-rail system.
Suggestions, comments about transportation would be nice. Blogs are usually suppose to be rant spaces, we'll begin this one with the spaces first.

I'll comment with a new thread and subject line.
Unless gasoline prices go sky high, you won't see light-rail in Fresno within the next two decades. The reason for this is that it's not cost effective with Fresno's current sprawling pattern of development. The only thing that will stop Fresno from sprawling is sky high gas prices. That's it. Elected officials will not stand up to developers, and developers produce what the market demands, which is single family homes in surburban developments. If you want to see light-rail in Fresno, put pressure on elected officials to restrict sprawl. Good luck with that, Fresno not exactly known for being progressive when it comes to land use issues.
Land use
Dead in the water? What in the world are you talking about?
Dead in the water. Land use issues need to be addressed first.

I'm looking forward to seeing some discussion on this here. There's been lots of buzz on mindhub about it recently. Can you post some data so folks know the current status of the various proposals?
