Acapulco vs. La Torta Restaurant (Chains and Local Alternatives)
Submitted by LiquidEvolution on Tue, 05/23/2006 - 13:48.
Per Suzi's *great* idea to put together a cohesive source for local alternatives throughout Fresno-- we're asking for suggestions. Please include an address to the "alternative" choice.
For example:
Acapulco has a great Mexican buffet, (Enchiladas, Chili Rellenos, Rice, Beans, etc.) for under $20 for 2.
Locally owned, La Torta has a similarly excellent buffet (Enchiladas, Chili Rellenos, Rice, Beans, etc.) for under $20 for 2. Their buffet is changed quite frequently to include other great items like: Abondigas, Flan, and even Agua Fresca.
La Torta Restaurant
2518 Ventura Blvd.
Fresno, CA 93721
Suggestions, anyone??

were you looking for mexican food? well...
were you looking for some kind of review perhaps?
my faves are:
guadalajara (shields and weber)
tacos marquitos (barstow and cedar)
both of them are small (i prefer to call it "cozy"), but you can get a quite filling meal for $5.
yum yum :)
How 'bout Breakfast
Why go to Denny's or the rest when you can go to Fresno Breakfast House?
2 locations - Bullard and West and First & Ashlan (my favorite)
Awesome selection of omelettes.
ANND...forgot this one! Best sub sandwich in town is at Sam's Italian Deli on First & Clinton.
Wow, I haven't been to any of those... thanks for the suggestions!
Few new alternatives
Here are some of my local favorites, sorry for the no address.
Torta Express
SW corner of Shaw & Fresno
Cafe Leon
NW corner of Anshlan & Blackstone
Country Fair Cafe
On Belmont between Maple & Chestnut
Fuji Cafe
On Kern St
Next to some fish place.
Any one else?
as i feared
I'm sad this idea has fallen completely flat. I noticed there have not been any posts/contributions on MindHub RE this either. Oh well. It was a nice idea while it lasted. :)
