This ArtHop, June 1, the Woodward Shakespeare Festival celebrates the opening of its 2006 summer season with a special art gallery event -- hosted at our fabulous new permanent business office downtown!

We'll be presenting the artwork of local painter Linda Pitts, whose eerie, phantasmagorical landscapes are the perfect introduction to our 2006 season, "The Summer of Magic and Madness," featuring A Midsummer Night's Dream (July 20-August 12) and Macbeth (August 24-September 16).

Come see some wonderfully beautiful and strange art and learn more about what we've got planned for our 2006 season of Free Shakespeare at Woodward Park. You'll have a chance to meet our featured artist and some members of our cast, plus enjoy refreshments from Full Circle Brewing Company and Great Harvest Bread Company.

Our special thanks to our new landlords, One by One Leadership, for renting us our new office space and Cost Plus World Market for donating decor items.

All Fresno Famous readers are invited. We'll be open for ArtHop from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 1, at the Woodward Shakespeare Festival business office at 2219 San Joaquin St. (NE corner of San Joaquin and L streets, off Van Ness, downtown).
