I am pretty sure you know very well that commuting by bicycle is the perfect solution for some of our problems such as traffic, pollution, obesity, etc. But how many of you actually tried it? I decided to give it a shot a few weeks ago and, man, why did I wait so long to do this?
I know I didn't want to bother the little spiders that lived on my bike at home, but this was not the main reason. I can't remember for sure but it was certainly an article or a conversation with someone that made me think "Duh, why don't I do this?", and this is the point I want to make here.
The same way many people feel motivated to do creative things and think outside the box after being part of MindHub, FLYP, FresnoFamous, Creative Fresno, etc, I would like to point you to another great organization - the Fresno County Bicycle Coalition (www.fresnobike.org). There you can find information about bike routes in Fresno, the "bike hop" (ArtHop in 2 wheels), bike clinic, etc.
I believe that good simple ideas, such as bike commuting, are in the back of everybody's mind, but it takes a little "spark" for one to really try to do it. I hope this post excites you just enough to make you try it once. Wave if you see me riding around :)
Thanks for reading.
