Barcamp? It's basically an ad-hoc, user organized conference full of geeks. This one in in San Francisco.
The Rules of Bar Camp.
- 1st Rule: You do talk about Bar Camp.
- 2nd Rule: You do blog about Bar Camp.
- 3rd Rule: If you want to present, you must write your topic and name in a presentation slot.
- 4th Rule: Only three word intros.
- 5th Rule: As many presentations at a time as facilities allow for.
- 6th Rule: No pre-scheduled presentations, no tourists.
- 7th Rule: Presentations will go on as long as they have to or until they run into another presentation slot.
- 8th Rule: If this is your first time at BarCamp, you HAVE to present. (Ok, you don't really HAVE to, but try to find someone to present with, or at least ask questions and be an interactive participant.)

I love to hear a room full of geeks who are full of pizza and bloating on beer fight about things like microformats, social networking, and my personal fave, drupal. The current genius brainstorming session (aka fight) is on microformats in social networking environments. Like, how can i add my flickr contacts to to upcoming.org and how can suzi integrate this technology into Famous. I have no idea. But i'm sure i will figure it out by lunch on tuesday. (uh...)
OOOh - now they are talking about geocoding. gotta go.

Don't knock it 'till you tried it! I mean the pizza and (almost) too much beer part, obviously you went to the event. Come on girl live a little! Some of us actually solve the world's problems around a campfire and a case of cold ones...
(we just never get around to implementing the solutions)

...um, well, I went to the dirtcar races at Chowchilla last night, and ate two really bad excuses for (kielbasa?)
--they called it a Polish HotDog... (I'm related to Poles, they'd burn the shack down and accordion-to-death the survivors if they knew that their homeland was associated with such over-roasted fare...)
-but the ale wasn't so bad.
Two Sprinters and one Truck flipped, (nobody got hurt,)
-and something burned down off on the horizon.
(--but the lady in front of me WAS text messaging during the street stock class...)
(..HillBilly Geeks -Does that count?)
----And do they really have free WiFe at Fulton Market??? (are they like the mail order Russian ones that keep leaving me EMails???)
