Too hot to live: more ways to stay cool

What could be more refreshing than a nice dip in a public pool? A town hall meeting about air quality, that's what.

The Air District welcomes those without day jobs to a Town Hall meeting today, from 1pm to 4pm at District offices, 1990 E. Gettysburg Ave. The public is invited to learn about progress to date and share innovative ideas to combat pollution.

After the meeting, go for a dip in one of the City's recently opened community pools:

Airways Municipal Golf Course --- 5440 E. Shields
Frank H. Ball Community Center --- 760 Mayor St.
Ivy Community Center--- 1350 E. Annadale
Fink—White --- 535 S. Trinity
Edison High School --- 540 E. California
McLane High School --- 2727 N. Cedar
Roosevelt High School --- 4250 E. Tulare
Mosqueda Community Center --- 4630 E. Butler

Pools are open from noon to 8pm. If you live north of Shaw you already have your own pool.
