Call to Artists Contemporary ~ Contemporaneo 2006 Submission of Portfolios
The Fresno Art Museum in partnership with the Mexican Consulate of Fresno has teamed up to launch Contemporary — Contempor¡neo, an interaction of Mexican and American artists. This program is the first of its kind and will have a broad impact on California's Central Valley. The Contemporary — Contemporaneo program was also developed in collaboration with California State University, Fresno and supported by Univision Television Group.
Two young (under 35 years of age) contemporary artists from Oaxaca Mexico, who demonstrate a promising career, will be selected and paired with two counterparts from the Central Valley to participate in a month long artist-in-residence program. The four artists will interact and exchange ideas around contemporary themes that are critical to developing a better understanding of each others country. The deadline for portfolios and biographies is August 24, 2006. Please contact Diego Monterrubio at 441-4221 ext. 101 for portfolio submission and information.
