It's nice to be back in spring's Fresno finery! The sun is shining down like trans-fat free whipped margarine and the trees are all in bloom; it's the best season of the year and I'm sorry I had to miss a week of it schlepping around that over-done, has-been New York City.
Seems as though I missed some good stuff last week, like yet another bumping Art Hop (with boob-grabbing!), Brit Brit and K-Fres' new UPN reality TV show (UPN? Moesha? Shar Jackson? Hello?), autograph hounds gone wild at FTK, a new mormon Fresno State basketball coach, a film festival, and dozens of other fun time events.
While doing some serious music shopping on West 4th street I was confronted by giant images of
Earlimart and (not-so-giant-but-no-less-impressive)
Rusty Santos, two hometown faves. Plus drinks with the
Fresno media elite clued us in to the starring role of Fresno State Professor Dr. Warren Fingeroot in the "The Old Negro Space Program" documentary. And finally, good friend of Famous Mark Halvorsen has done gone and got himself published in punk mag
Razorcake. Check out
"Milner".
Extra special thanks are due to Kumar the Vegan Blogger and the Assistant Editor (Sports) for holding down the fort with lots of cardboard and pillows.
