ABC 30 reports:
A delegation of city leaders, along with Forest City Enterprises, is heading to Las Vegas on Monday to present it's vision at the National Retail Convention. The hope is to attract interest from major retailers to take part of the revitalization plans. Fresno Mayor Alan Autry says there are plans to move forward with or without a so-called "anchor" tenant.
Does this mean that
Forest City has decided to go ahead with the $300-400 million South of Stadium project?
The Bee wrote on April 11, 2004:
Right now, though, nothing is for sure. All that is happening is this: The city and Forest City representatives are negotiating an agreement to negotiate.
If that agreement is approved at an upcoming council meeting, then the two sides will have one year to agree on terms for the project's details -- including its timetable, site plans, financing and the amount of public assistance that will be provided.
Has all that been decided? We don't know, and called Marlene Murphy at the
Redevelopment Agency. She is in Las Vegas. We'll let you know when she returns our call.
