Boogie Nights with Homero Espinosa & Cubase Dan
Boogie Nights is proud to welcome two very accoplished house dj/producers Homero Espinosa and Cubase Dan of San Francisco's Yerba Buena Discos label. Warming up the decks as always are local favorites Rick Boogie and Geoff Kramer. House music all night long!

HOMERO ESPINOSA
Homero Espinosa began spinning records as DJ Huey in the Bay Area in the early 90's, quickly finding a niche in the underground rave scene. He quickly rose to prominence as one of the few rave DJ's playing true underground house music in a scene overwhelmed by trance and European pop-dance music. During a stint as a rave promoter, he was able to bring house music talent from as far afield as New York and Europe to play in the Bay Area alongside such local heroes as Tony, Simon, and Garth and Onionz.
Along the way, Homero forged a working relationship with fellow Bay Area DJ and producer Allen Craig, which resulted in Yerba Buena Discos, a DJ and music-production cooperative. Their first track, "Soul Power 03," featured on Tony Hewitt's Detour Recordings label, scored myriad playlistings and extensive European radio play. His releases on their Yerba Buena Discos label have become top sellers at Bay Area record stores and have become crowd favorites in San Francisco's deep house underground.
In a symbolic move meant to display a change from his younger, more party-oriented persona to a more mature, artistic perspective, the "DJ Huey" moniker has been shed in favor of "Homero Espinosa," his given name.
Homero's work at Berkeley's Primal Records surrounded him with great talent and inspiration. This, as well as another record due for immediate release on Nightshift Recordings and Homero's appearances on Bay Area radio, have further raised his stock beyond the scope of the massive raves at which he is still a regularly featured performer.
After a year spent promoting for a casino which proved to be somewhat frustrating due to the corporate nature of his clients, 2004 brought about a newly revitalized Homero, who has thrown his hat into the ring of San Francisco club promoters. As the man behind the monthly Family Affair nights and YBD underground events, he continues to keep clubbers dancing to the underground house music that is his first love.

CUBASE DAN
Cubase Dan's musical career began in 1999, when he wrote music and produced for hip hop group V.E.R.A. Clique's first cd. In his spare time, Dan began producing house music. Dan's career in house music really began in 2002, when he decided to begin learning to DJ while he attended school to learn audio engineering. He found himself hooked on underground house music, having finally found the sound he wanted to pursue. Dan describes himself as "instantly addicted. I was constantly buying records and appreciating the underground sound - it was the sound that I'd been looking for. Labels like Tango, Detour, Nightshift, Doubledown, Robsoul, Minority and Amenti just to name a few, were very inspiring to me."
While working at Coast Recorders in San Francisco as an audio engineer, Cubase Dan met Homero Espinosa. After talking about music and interests, they became friends and started working on tracks together. Shortly thereafter, Dan joined Yerba Buena Discos. His first release was an unofficial track, followed shortly by his first official release on the label, 2005's "That Everyday Life".
Dan also finds the time to continue engineering and producing, currently working with an Oakland based hip hop group V.E.R.A. Clique, and also working with singer songwriter Tyrone Payne.
