transit then and now

Since the demise of privately built and owned Streetcar transit systems throughout the nation, the government approach is to rebuild light-rail transit systems with the same technology that existed 100 years ago. Meanwhile; instead of trying to keep up with the Flintstones, the private sector continues to advance with modern technology. Keeping up with the purpose of a personal blog spot, I'll report personal news. I finally had a chance to visit a maglev facility last weekend near UCSB. This technology is nothing short of amazing. The test vehicle was built and completed four years ago and has been floating ever since. Their website is Magtube.
