Unsure what to expect

And then blown away. Much respect to Armen and Co. As me and my girlfriend walked up something told me the man standing on the sidewalk having a ciggarette was different. After we sat I watched the smoker enter and talk a bit to the other band members, then he sat down to begin their set. I knew it.

We were unsure what kind of music to expect. I didn't want to look too forward by expecting too much. What I really wanted to hear was something real, with heart and soul and I didn't want to be let down. This was an experience anyone who is into music should have. These guys were awesome. Real, live, Jazz.

Armen is gifted, and his bandmates compliment well. They all were in a groove together. Each had solos and you could almost feel yourself being in a beatnick turtleneck bar back in the day. These guys made music man. At times I felt both Armen and the bass player ad lib it felt like. They flowed. Armen gave a dedicated ear to the bass as the bass lead on his own for a bit. This gave such a good feeling to know that Armen, a great composer and musician, could give it up to his complimentary bandmates. He let the bass have his time in the lime light. The drummer had some time to show his stuff, and he was great. At times the drums stood out more for his unique style than did the piano and bass. These guys really got along.

Compliments all around to Vini's for providing the venue, to Armen Kevin and Brian for such a real experience. This will be one to remember for a long time.
