Forest City needs more time

Yawn. Forest City has told Fresno it needs "more time" to come up with a plan for the South Stadium project. They've given up on Bass Pro and are now thinking of a mix of residential and retail. Oh and a riverwalk thingie so the Mayor can sleep easy at night. Fresno, when you gonna wake up and realize they're just stringing you along? Forest City doesn't want you!

PS: ABC30, please get a copy editor.

Adaptive reuse and Forest City

In doing research on a few Forest City projects, I discovered that they did an adaptive reuse project in D.C. It might be too late or not not feasible at this point (considering what property they own), but how amazing would that be if they could incorporate some renovation of older structures into their new development. That way, downtown wouldn't become segregated between the old and new, and we could put some existing structures with so much potential to use. I really feel that downtown would best be revitalized if the redevelopment was as close as possible to places such as the Fulton Mall and Hotel Fresno. What do you all think?

Ditto on the need for a copy

Ditto on the need for a copy editor. Here's an excerpt from Gene Haagenson's bio (he wrote the story). I couldn't help but laugh; it sounds like a third grade book report...

"Gene is a reporter. He joined Action News in 1991. He's served in a variety of positions including: Weekend Anchor, Bureau Chief and Government Reporter.

He covers all kinds of stories on a daily basis. But his favorites are those dealing with the environment, local history, and the unique people and places in and around the Central Valley."

Wow.

RE: ABC30 Copy editor needed

Glad someone finally said it. I'm tired of trying to understand their elementary school-level thought layouts and grammar. Seems most local news stations have this problem on their websites though. Their "stories" seem to be the reporters'/anchors' chicken scratch notes.
