Fresno film watch: Xmas edition

Happy holidays, people! The Fresno/Clovis multiplexes are offering slim choices for indie films this long Christmas weekend. So it might be a good time to snuggle up on the couch at home with some rentals. Here's what's playing:
* Babel, directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu. At Clovis Town Center.
* Guadalupe, the sci-fi thriller. At Manchester.
* The Queen, starring Helen Mirren. At Criterion.
Mark your calendars now for the next Fresno Filmworks screening, scheduled for Jan. 12. It's the beautifully restored French new-wave film Army Of Shadows, distributed for the first time in the United States.
Don't forget, Filmworks is also now accepting short film submissions for their 3rd Annual Film Festival! Entries are due by January 25th.
