Fresno Poets' Association feat. Beverly Lowry
The sixth and final installment of the Fresno Poets' Association 2006-07 season features an evening of creative nonfiction with Beverly Lowry. The reading inside the Bonner Auditorium at the Fresno Art Museum will be followed by a reception and book signing in the museum gallery.
Lowry is the author of six novels and three works of creative nonfiction, including the acclaimed Crossed Over: A Murder, A Memoir, about her friendship with death-row inmate Karla Faye Tucker. Her most recent work, to be published this spring, is a biography: Harriet Tubman, Imagining a Life. Her essays, book reviews, and literary journalism have been published in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The New Yorker, Granta, Rolling Stone, and Vanity Fair, among many others.
The FPA is supported by Poets and Writers, Inc., through grants it has received from the James Irvine Foundation and the Bonner Family Foundation. Further funding comes from donation by FPA members. The 2006-07 Fresno Reading Series is presented by the Fresno Poets' Association, a nonprofit organization affiliated with the Fresno Free College Foundation and the Fresno Art Museum.
