The COUNCIL of 100 presents the first in a series of events for 2007:
Credibility & Validity as an Artist
A symposium featuring regional artists: Nanete Maki-Dearsan, Stephanie Ryan, Joan Sharma, Anne Scheid, and Mary Maughelli.
The participants will be discussing the nuts and bolts of:
Making art, creating an art career, exhibiting, grants, residencies,
And the importance of documentation.

Saturday, March 17, 4pm at Fresno Art Museum, Gail Levin, noted author, former curator at the Whitney Museum & art historian from New York City, will be discussing her latest book, Becoming Judy Chicago. There is an entire chapter about the groundbreaking feminist art program pioneered by Judy Chicago at CSU Fresno in 1970-71. Many Fresnans were interviewed for this chapter.
Saturday, March 24 at 10 also at the Fresno Art Museum, Nature as Source, a symposium with artists Christel Dillbohner, Patricia Stroud, and Cay Lang will be joined by moderator Marian Parmentor, Director of the SFMOMA Artists Gallery.
