(Ukranian/Russian Fare), just around the corner, is also a great place,,, beautiful people as waitstaff, -and excellent murals on the top...

Down in the Village, if you're looking for more family and fun faire, I'd hit Jeckyll and Hydes.. (very cool theme restaurants, done up like creepy old English library and labs, ---as well as the second one, (downtown,) that looks like the jungle version... (you have to feel around the bookshelves to find the book to pull to open the door to the bathroom... (they provide staff if you are sort of um, desperate,,,)
-The pumpkin Ravioli is excellent.

-While at cooper square, (up the road from St. Marks,) you can also bumble into the Cooper Union and see how the kids are doing... (some pretty good work comes out of there...) One of the only colleges I know of where it's free to go, ---but you have to be good enough to get in..

I'll check with my little brother and see if anybody good is playing in town this week, and give you some good music... (I highly recommend 'Holler, Wild Rose' or 'Annie Quick.')

As much as I appreciate a good conspiracy theory for all things Famous, this was a simple case of 'sh*t happens'. Comments have been restored from a backup.

i don't know if it's a mark as spam attack.

i say this because whoever did this would have had to spend quite some time on the site going through and marking threads as spam. i was looking @ the blogs i've written, and most comments, even on older, more dead threads, were gone.

so, i don't know. maybe our beloved, lame duck leader has some input. or, perhaps our new insect overlords will do some explainin.

With all these spam problems and comment erasing, I keep getting two images in my head. One is of BrianZ pulling his hair out trying to figure out what's going wrong. The other is of Jarah lounging on the deck of a boat on Lake SUCCESS, lighting a cigar with a twenty dollar bill.

This site has been a great resource------
for things that are going on and also an archive of things that had been going on and what people felt about them.

A really terrific and meaningful archive.

I hope there's back-up.

At least the flaming garbage from the fam lee crowd is gone.

-that was some pretty creative stuff, and really entertaining.

-but that you would know how this was done, figured it out, and wrote this first could be taken in a variety of ways.

Knowing the amount of time, talent, and effort you've taken to add to so many of these strings over the months, (and the work has been freakin' beautiful, I've told you this,)

It just sickens me that somebody else,

I was refering to the "recent comments" verticle center on the right side of the splash page. It seems to be working a little......The frame is all wacky,....the bottom line of the frame runs right off the page and there are "recent comments" from 23 days ago,....wierd.

it was all marked as spam and dumped.

does this site get backed up?

um,,, not sure what you are noticing, but am curious.

1. I've picked up on postings sort of appearing and then dissappearing, (the nuke string had this happen to something me and Theramin were talking about,)

2. -and I've noticed comments regarding some of the things I've written ('we wanta know,' -as well as what I wrote last night about the 'Same Shape Show, (etc.)' --having responses to it, ---but nothing being there when I clicked on the link.
-I just figured this was somebody spamming on the thread that got caught by a filter, -as my stuff can attract that kind of attention.

There has been a filter catching a lot of the 'carpet bombing,' spam that has been going on, (the endless list of update tags, that led to porn sites,) ---where, if you click on the update, -you'll find nothing there, only the 'update alert.'
---you can fix that, (the false trigger,) by unclicking the subsribe to the old string, if you want, (I wrote about that yesterday, I think.)

hmmmm, wait, I just was looking at something, and not only has the comment from 'we want to know,' been removed that I was alerted to, ---but my whole response to the question appears to have vanished... (yet there is a 'response,' listed on the counter next to the post.) (This is kind of the same thing that happened with the 'pro-nukes,' post that Theramin and I were citing.)
