In February Fig Tree Gallery will present "History in a Minor Key" a solo exhibition of new large scale figurative work by featured artist Glen Delpit. There will be a reception on Arthop Thur. Feb 1 from 5-8 and a formal opening reception on Sun. Feb 4 from 1-4. The show runs from Feb 1- Feb 25.
History in a Minor Key points to a new direction for the artist. These post modern figurative works which revolve around family and friends also include a number of self portraits. The lively colorful works cast a wide referential net and the unrelated segments create disjunctive unexpected narratives. The works which are free standing, and of a large scale combine the use of collage, assemblage, text and acrylic paint on tri-paneled wood. He will also exhibit a small number of his recently completed scaled down wooden boxes.
Fig Tree gallery is located at 644 Van Ness at Mono(downtown). Regular gallery hours are Fri/Sat/Sun 12-4.
