Best Dive Bar

If you feel completely safe inside, it's not a dive bar.

Central Bar

I forgot about that place. On the corner of Cornelia and Shields.

But Reds Lobster haves all you can eat scrimps!

And rude fat pigs that let their children run wild.
It's Mothers Day so the staff will hate it.
We gots our welfare checks an we be living high on the hog.

dead

red lobster is just a Kellogg's owned company, you want fish around here, catch your own or go to Central Fish.

red lobster

whoever said that... you're funny. i mean that.

Pierce's Park

I don't think it offers anything. It's been closed, I believe, for quite some time. You're right, though. Even the locals don't dare, and they're pretty flippin' tough!

It isn't a "Dive" unless there is a chalk outline on the floor

I'd vote for ANY Ewells bar...There is still one out on East Kings Canyon.

As someone said El Molino Rojo certainly qualifies..some nights the cops arriving to break up the fight/stabbing/attempted rape outnumber the patrons.

You can also get your drunk on at Tarpey Tavern..professional boozers only please.

And for REAL SH*T kicking, two fisted, homebuilt harley, serious drinking good time DEFINATELY head out to Pierce's Park...Long dead Animals on the wall, 30yr old electric dart game in the corner, and close enough to the Kings River the drunks can pee and puke there instead of the parking lot.

Astro Bar.

Best Jukebox, hands down.

duh.

Don Pepe's is more of a restraunt but it does serve the best dirty beers in town. Yum.

The Other Bar

Now a subject I know something about! TOB, I first discovered in mid 90's, formerly the "Beer Hunter".

It is the greatest place. An eclectic group of people, in the mornings, old retired guys playing dice, then later women and men of various ages and classes come in and all inter-mingle.

I have been to just about every "dive" bar in town, at various times of the day, and TOB, is never disappointing for meeting people, and having fun. They have a large social circle, plan camping trips, even cruises, celebrate bdays, you name it. Blackstone @ Sierra.

Clovis seems to have the most...

Lest we forget Henry's Cantina on 5th between Pollasky and Clovis Ave. And what about Jimbo's on Herndon. More bikers there on a weekend then a... well... a biker rally. DJ's is nice, and, as I recall, the drinks are cheap. A shot of Stoli was $3.

The Dirty Olive!?!? Puh-lease! That place has more BMW keyrings and fake Rolex's than there are bikers at Jimbo's... IMHO.

Does Red Lobster count?

Annie's Hollywood Inn (Both Locations)

Sit next to hookers, truck drivers and crack heads...and the old pensioneer with the hooker girlfriend drinking scotch.

Intimo Lounge a close second.

another Clovis dive

Ruby's. On Pollasky. Warped shuffleboard table and all.

The Pub

I want to revise my vote, the Pub at Cedar and Ashlan in the back of a shopping center. I forgot how backwards and weird that place is.

Clovis Dive Bar

Kimmies on Clovis and 4th (next to the Tarpey visitor's center). My smoker friends love the back patio. Draft beer AND food. More fried food than you can shake a stick at.

Pierce's Park

This biker bar on 180 in Centerville is an authentic roadhouse. Not the kind of disney "roadhouse" you'll find in riverpark, but the real scary kind. One in which I was too afraid to walk into after I opened the door. It has hosted Hell's Angels meetings and KKK rallies. While it offers home cookin', I still won't go in.

The Other Bar!

Even though I claim I never want to go there, every once awhile (after a few drinks of course) I get the urge to drop in at The Other Bar with my friend Tara. We've sang karaoke, ordered water on the rocks (it's the end of the night!), met random people and so on. Goot times.

dive in clovis

Skyline on Clovis Ave.

The Other Bar

On Blackstone & Sierra (Someone tried to sell me cologne before I went in, and I got flashed twice)

I don't know that this is the best dive bar in town...

but I once went to DJ's in Clovis and they served me beer in a red cup.

so I vote for that.

Club Brazil

Because I don't think Club Armona would qualify since it's actually in Armona.

Desperado

El Molino Rojo on Fresno and Belmont has to be the most scandalous joint I've ever attended in fresno......its awesome!

swan dive....

Astro Lounge...
Darlene (I want to be just like her when I grow up) and her blonde jokes...

The Brig

On Blackstone near Gettysburg, been there forever!

Dirty Olive

I don't feel safe inside! I feel like I need a bottle of paxil.

Oh wait, can I vote? I'm gonna anyway!
