Doctor Who Joins KVPT Lineup
April 4, 2007
Valley Public Television (KVPT) will begin broadcast of Doctor Who, the immensely popular British science fiction series, on Thursday, April 5 at 10 pm. Each 45-minute episode will be followed by a 15-minute Doctor Who Confidential, a behind-the -scenes look at the making of the series. Each episode will be rebroadcast on Saturday nights at 11:00pm.
Produced by the BBC, the series chronicles the adventures of a mysterious time-traveler known only as "The Doctor," who explores time and space with his companions, righting wrongs as only he can. The original Doctor Who ran from1963 to 1989. After a 16-year absence, the series was re-launched in 2005.
KVPT will air the revived series which has received extensive recognition both from critics and the public. In 2005, the British public voted the series "Most Popular Drama" at the Britain's National Television Awards.
