As someone who called 'Philly,' home for over a decade and a half... I sooooo envy you...

And that was one sweet deal getting into Wharton...

First off?
To those who do not know what Wharton is?
---How 'bout one of the top Business Schools in the Country, in one of the top IVY FREAKIN' LEAGUE Colleges in the Country...

Very Very nice work...

Among the things that this College does and did?

-Hows about they built the first Computer (like, ever,) back in the day. (Their Math-Tech college (Drexel,) is brutal...

-They have one of the greatest radio stations in the history of the planet (WXPN.)

-And, they were some of the first professors, scientists, doctors, and sociologists to research AIDS (way back before it was even called such,,,) in the early to mid eighties.. (one of my proff's was on the team...)

It also had a really great underground music scene...

Theatre of the Living Arts,
NorthStarBar, and
Tin Angel are great venues to catch some great acts at...
(but I see you making the schlepp up to Knitting Factory in NYC, it's only a couple of hours away...)

-Dress warmly, (but then again, you did NY, so you know,)
---watch out for the CheeseSteaks, (they be quite fattening)
---watch out for Phila. Sports Fans... (they be quite psychotic.)

--Local places for killer desserts? (hopefully still in business,)
More than Just IceCream (down on Pine, I think around 10th.)

If you want great art, you have to hit the Academy of Fine Arts (Eakins School,) over on Cherry, (though Univ. of Arts and Art Institute
ain't bad...)

If you dig horses, there's always the Devon Horse Show, (Dressage,,, very very cool...)

Great shopping (and really cool jewelery going on,) up on Chestnut Hill.

...and um,,,
well, you may want to look into something fashionable in kevlar... (at the moment Phila is having like, two shootings a day, and has become the murder capitol of the country over the past 18 months... (mostly dealers blowing each other away, they figure...)

BUT OTHER THAN THAT? IT'S WONDERFUL...

Bad recruiting at Craig

What I want to know is, what's going on with the recruiting down at Fresno State's Craig School of Business? How could they let a big time local talent like Jarah slip away? Didn't they offer Jarah some Fresno incentives to stay?

Something like...ummm I don't know...maybe a lowered Chevy truck, a lifetime subscription to the Bee, free sushi at Sushi-n-Pop, shop at Fashion Fair AFTER it's closed to the public, a years worth of Tri-Tip to all of her Fresno family members.

Craig School recruiters are apparently playing it too straight.

Congrats from a fellow future east coaster

My warmest and most heartfelt congratulations to you on this exciting new chapter! UPenn is a fabulous school. I, too, will be relocating back east (to DC) this summer, to work but also eventually to attend grad school. And I, too, plan to continue my love affair with the Famous community. We should try to meet up sometime out there! Fresnoites must stick together, after all.

And when you are done...

... with your MBA... keep your options open. One of them being not to move BACK to Fresno... but to move FORWARD to Fresno instead. Because you have been such a grand influence in spurring on that mindset here.

I was looking forward to meeting someone so actively involved in improving Fresno when I move back for grad school this next semester after having been gone for 10 years.

Two years!

You have two years to get your MBA and then we're coming to get you. One cannot look at the positive changes that have occured in Fresno over the past few years without seeing your fingerprints.

What will a post-Jarah Fresno look like?
